CORPORATE PROFILE

The International Legal and Business Services Group (ILBSG) was the brainchild of two legal professionals with very different backgrounds, who began their joint practicing in 2004, from a small office in Chicago, IL. The “International” part of the Firm’s name not only reflects the firm’s global clientele, but it also aptly describes the people who work at this firm.

Founding member and Managing Attorney Sam Alemu, was a former Judge in the Ethiopian high Court. The Harvard Law Graduate is currently an US citizen, but retains strong ties with his birth place and the Ethiopian community in the US. His junior partner and the joint founder of ILBSG is Praveen Medikundam, a young attorney from India, whose grasp of business practices in both South Asia and the United States has made it possible for the firm to extend its services to that region.

Alemu and Medikundam came together with the vision in mind – to launch a firm, which will practice both US Immigration law and Corporate Law side by side. The international background of the working attorneys have given ILBSG a truly global edge and while the firm caters to an US clientele in majority, the firm has a large global clientele, including companies from South East Asia and Africa.

With a modest beginning in Chicago, ILBSG has grown fast enough to set up a branch to handle its South East Asian clients in Hyderabad, India in 2005. By the end of 2007, the firm had set up satellite offices in New York and Plano, TX.
